The European Day of Languages is an annual celebration day to encourage language learning across Europe. At the initiative of the Council of Europe, it has been celebrated every year, on 26 September, since the European Year of Languages in 2001.

To celebrate it, we'll design some posters to hang on our classroom's wall:
- Choose your favourite word in English.
- Choose a picture from the Internet, from a magazine, take a photo, make a drawing, a collage, etc., related with the word.
- Look up this information in a dictionary: type of word (is it a noun, a verb, an adjective, an adverb?), syllable division, phonetic transcription and definition.
- Write your own definition. Redefine the word using your own words. Be creative!
Here you are an example. My favourite word in English is CURIOSITY because, in my opinion, it's the basis of learning, without curiosity there's no learning, curiosity is the starting point for learning.
